My Favorite Photos from 2020 | Part Two
2020 has been quite a year to say the least! It feels like it’s both flown by and slowly ticked by. For me personally, 2020 will always be the year my photography business took off and 2020 will be the year I will look back on and say “that was my turning point”.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this year for me both professionally and personally! I love all of the support!!
It was REALLY difficult to narrow down a Top 20 but I’ve managed and the selections surprised me at the end of the decision making as some of these shots aren’t necessary my best work but are photos that mean something more for one reason or another. I hope you enjoy my year in review and look forward to seeing what 2021 has to offer!
Professional Collection
This was SO hard!!! I’ve been fortunate enough to have photographed so many great families in 2020. I tried to choose photos that are both great from a photography perspective and from the personal story behind the photograph.
Milk Bath Baby
2020 started out with the Model Family Program milk baths. This little guy was the cutest thing in his milk bath! He smiled and ate the grapefruit the entire time, of all the milk bath sessions I’ve shot he was by far the easiest.
Baby’s First Easter
This impressed child got the job done for the promotional shoots for Baby’s First Easter Mini Sessions. She didn’t cry but she wasn’t giving me any smiles either, which is fine because this “what is this hat” face made this photo one of my favorites. I didn’t get to shoot these sessions because of shutdown but I’m excited to offer them in 2021 so be on the lookout around March for more information!
Wormsloe Historic Site | Senior Session
This senior session will always be a favorite for so many reasons! The day was beautiful and Savannah was a great client but she and her family were also my first shoot post quarantine AND my first true strangers! The “booked my first stranger, they found me on google” is the most amazing feeling and this session will always hold a special place in my heart because of that!
Tybee Island | Senior Session
This is one of those “let me take just one more” photo that ends up being the best shot of the day moments! I love these moments (there’s another one further down!!) and they make even the best shoots so much better!
“Can We Bring the Cat?” | Skidaway Island Family Session
When Skyler messaged me and asked if they could bring the cat and the dog I didn’t hesitate to say yes, even though it was my first “can we bring the cat” request. We did the family photos without the pets first, just in case the cat acted like a cat and climbed their faces but you would never believe how good the cat was! Can you believe I managed to get both adults and the cat to look at the camera! Of course the dog couldn’t follow the directions and look at the camera ????????.
Mom and Me | Tybee Island
I love this photo for so many reasons. It’s a great shot, if I do say so myself, but also they look so happy together in this moment. If you’ve followed me for long you’ve seen this little girl grow up over the years. I’ve been fortunate enough to have taken quite a number of photos of her and I love being able to watch her grow up!
Milk & Cookie Mini Sessions
I shot so many great Milk & Cookie Mini Sessions but this one was by far my favorite!! These two had such great energy, they giggled with each other while crunching cookies and then broke out the masks to show how over quarantine and COVID they truly are. It was such a great time and having them come with such a great idea in mind was amazing!
Milk Bath | Make Me Work For It!
Earlier I mentioned my easiest milk bath to date, well now I’ll talk about the one I had to work the hardest for to date! LOL. This sweet girl was not into it and did not care how cute she was in the tub of cranberries and oranges. She wanted no part of it! Full disclosure, I was scared to go through the photos after the session, she made me and her grandma work HARD for the shots! I got them though and delivered a gallery of over 25 beautiful not crying images and 3 beautiful hard crying images! Everything worked out perfectly in the end and I loved the challenge!
The Hug | Forsyth Park
This is another of those “let me just take one more” shots and boy is it a great one! The last shot I was taking was actually of the two boys but they just didn’t want to sit still instead they ran into mom’s arms and I managed to click the shutter at just the right moment! Everything about this photo is perfect to me and I’m so happy I was able to include it in the gallery for this family.
#TheFrontStepsProject
For me 2020 can’t be discussed in regards to my business without talking about #thefrontstepsproject. Being able to spend the time visiting families during quarantine to take their porch photos was such a great experience for me and an amazing opportunity, if you missed it you can read all about it HERE. Together the over 60 families I photographed raised over $3,000 for P.A.C.K. Savannah. I couldn’t choose a favorite family to showcase here so I went with my own family.
That’s the End?
That does wrap up my favorite 20 images of 2020! If you missed the first 10 images you can find them and more with the links below!
