Senior Session Outfits
What you choose to wear to your senior session is one of the most important factors in planning for you senior pictures. You want to balance the fun and trending styles with something that A. your parent’s approve of and B. will stand the test of time. Today I’m breaking down my thoughts on choosing the perfect outfits.
Keeping it Classic – The White Dress
The first outfit you should think about is your classic outfit. For most seniors it’s the white dress. There are so many different ways to do the white dress but I recommend keeping it simple and timeless.
A POP of color!
When the white dress is a bit too basic for you what should you do? Turn to color!! A fun dress with a pop of color is perfect for a senior session. Just be sure the pop of color suits your skin tone and think about the reflection on your face from the dress.
Something for Mom/Grandma
This category can often be covered by the white dress or the pop of color but it’s one to really consider. You want to make your mama happy and your granny proud when they show the photos to all of their friends so considering an outfit that’s a bit more on the conservative side is a good bet!
Casual is Cool!
A casual outfit is PERFECTLY fine for a senior session! If you are not going to be comfortable in a dress going with pants and something more casual is what you should do! Being uncomfortable in photos equals subpar photos and an experience you won’t be happy with.
If you have multiple outfits with your package doing a casual/jeans look is a must!
Trendy
This outfit is one I would suggest using if you have multiple outfits with your package. Trendy can be fun and is a great way to showcase your personality but keep in mind, trends come and go so in 10 years you might be taking a chance on looking back and wondering “what was I thinking!!” (Glamour Shots anyone?? LOL) Here are some of my recent favorite trendy outfits from senior sessions!
The Number ONE Piece of Advice!!
Be comfortable! No matter what you choose to wear to your senior session please please PLEASE!! be comfortable. If you are uncomfortable it really does show on camera. If you spend time pulling at seams, adjusting, or trying to hide some aspect of the outfit (or yourself) you aren’t comfortable with the odds of you loving your photos will decrease.
This time in your life is special and you are getting photos to document it so be sure to be your best self!!
