Imagine a studio full of sparkle, some very enthusiastic seniors, and a disco ball that totally stole the show. That’s exactly what went down during our Class of 2026 Senior Experience Team holiday pop-up session at Wonderland Studio in downtown Savannah.
This mini group shoot was hands-down one of my favorite kinds of sessions – fun, fast-paced, and full of personality. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be part of a senior group session (spoiler: it’s more than just taking pretty pictures), this behind-the-scenes glimpse is for you.

Why I Love Senior Team Sessions (Especially Around the Holidays)
Let’s be honest – senior year can feel like a whirlwind. Between classes, sports, college apps, and let’s not forget sleeping occasionally, the to-do list is wild. So, having a day that’s just pure fun with friends (and sequins) is the reset everyone needs.
My senior team sessions were created exactly for that. They’re more than just a photo op. They’re a chance to celebrate, laugh, and let go of the pressure to be perfectly posed. These shoots help me really get to know the girls on the team and see the fun dynamic between them and their closest friends or siblings.
For this holiday pop-up, we upped the glam and went full sparkle.

Downtime? Nah. It’s Sequin Time.
This session had two goals:
- Embrace the holiday spirit, sparkle and all
- Let each senior shine individually while still being part of something fun and collaborative
Alright, let’s break it down.
Outfit Coordination = Bonding Time
The word of the session? Sequins. Every girl came in sparkly attire, and for those who needed help, I brought in backup options from my own collection. Once on-site, we mixed and matched until everyone looked cohesive but still themselves. Nothing like digging through a rack of glittery clothing together to loosen things up.
Jillian, one of our current team members, brought her sisters Marguerite and Justine – both past senior team girls. Watching these three interact honestly gave me all the sentimental vibes. That’s what I love most about this program: the connections don’t stop after senior year is over.

The Studio Sets: Cozy Christmas & NYE Sparkle
First up – the Christmas set. Wonderland Studio had a minimal but magical holiday backdrop that was perfect for cozy, classic shots. We started with individual portraits, then got creative with friend pics and group poses. I also grabbed a sweet trio shot of Jillian and her sisters – talk about a built-in legacy photo.
Then it was time for a change of pace.
The second set was all glitter and gold, inspired by New Year’s Eve. I brought silver and gold sparkle curtains, hoping to hang a “Happy New Year” banner… only problem was, I couldn’t get that sucker to hang straight. Anywhere. So I ditched the banner and did what any good improviser would do – leaned into props. I brought party headbands and those little paper blower things, but real talk, they accidentally looked a little like cigars once in hand. Major plot twist.
Thankfully, one of the girls spotted a disco ball from the studio’s prop pile, and it totally saved the day.

We Wrapped with Sparkles and Smiles
We ended with more individual and group photos in front of the NYE backdrop. At that point, everyone felt comfortable, relaxed, and honestly just happy to be there together. My favorite kind of energy to photograph.
By the end of the session, I had a camera full of joyful moments – silly poses, sweet smiles, and yes, plenty of sequins.

Thinking About Group Senior Photos? Here’s Why You’ll Love It
Group senior sessions like this one bring a totally different energy than one-on-one sessions. Here’s why they might be the perfect fit for you (or your daughter):
- You’re looking for something extra during senior year that’s just for fun
- You’re super close with your best friend or a sibling and want to capture that bond
- Outfits and posing feel less intimidating when you’re surrounded by people you know
- You want a mix of individual and shared memories that are beautiful and meaningful

The Real Magic: Friendship, Fun, and Feeling Like Yourself
When you look back at senior year, you probably won’t remember every test or paper. But you will remember who you were with, how you felt, and the moments that made you laugh until your stomach hurt. That’s what group shoots are all about. Photos are just the bonus.
If you’re a senior (or a mom of one) thinking, “This sounds like something we’d love,” then you’re exactly who I had in mind when I created these sessions. You don’t need to know how to pose, dress, or plan it all out perfectly – that’s where I come in.
