Hope’s Downtown Savannah Senior Session | Jaden Giorgianni Photography

< back to blog

Your senior year of high school is such a big deal and what better way to document this moment in time? Senior pictures!!

The Senior Experience is my signature senior session. It offers up to 4 outfits, cap & gown photos, and a 2 location choices. For Hopes’s session she drove over from Bluffon to do a downtown Savannah shoot.

Senior Session in Downtown Savannah

Hope started her session in a college tee and jeans. I loved this causal outfit – Hope said she isn’t super dressy and she wanted to have pictures taken celebrating where she was going to college in the fall so she decided on this outfit which was simple but very accurate to her personality and style.

This image is a collage of three photos featuring a high school senior during a casual outdoor photo session in a beautiful, sunny setting—in Savannah, Georgia. Left Photo: The girl is sitting on the grass in a lush, green park. She has long brunette hair, is smiling brightly, and is wearing a gray crop top with “Carolina Gamecocks” on it, paired with loose-fitting blue jeans and white Adidas sneakers. Large, mossy oak trees and charming historic buildings are visible in the background, giving the image a very classic Southern feel. Center Photo: The girl is standing confidently in the middle of the same park, surrounded by tall live oak trees with hanging Spanish moss. She has one hand on her hip and a big smile on her face. Her casual outfit and the natural setting create a relaxed, joyful vibe. Right Photo: She is leaning casually against a red brick wall, still smiling warmly. The lighting is soft and natural, and the background is a quiet, tree-lined pathway—another nod to Savannah’s historic charm.

Senior Photos in Savannah’s squares

For Hope’s second outfit she wore a light pink top with a denim skirt. Again, I love that she stuck with something more causal to fit her personality and style! Denim styles may change over the years but denim itself never goes out of style so this is a great outfit choice for a senior session! We stayed in the Pulaski/Orleans square area for this outfit, walking just a bit down Jones Street – making sure to find several spots where the jasmine was in full bloom!

This collage features three bright and cheerful senior portraits of a young woman enjoying a sunny day in historic Savannah, Georgia. The warm lighting and blooming greenery create a fresh, springtime vibe. Left Photo: The senior is walking along a charming brick path lined with lush landscaping and classic Southern architecture. She’s wearing a light pink sleeveless top with lace detail and a denim mini skirt. Her long, wavy hair is styled down, and she’s smiling to the side with her hands casually in her pockets, giving off a confident and carefree energy. Center Photo: This close-up portrait captures the senior sitting on a stone bench, turned slightly to look back over her shoulder with a glowing smile. The background is softly blurred with green trees and dappled sunlight, highlighting her natural beauty and joyful expression. Right Photo: She’s standing next to a wrought-iron fence draped in flowering vines, possibly jasmine, which adds a romantic and whimsical feel. Her outfit now includes denim shorts paired with the same pink top, and she’s wearing white sandals. She leans casually against the fence, smiling warmly at the camera.

Downtown Savannah Senior Sessions

We did Hope’s third outfit downtown too – usually I suggest two outfits in first location and 2 in the second location but we were heading to Tybee for her second location and sometimes changing on the beach for two outfits can be very time consuming and sandy. Hope wore this simple white dress for her third outfit – it was such a great choice because of the simple lines and minimal detail. I always suggest a white dress for at least one of the four outfits in The Senior Experience package because of how well most white dresses photograph and how timeless they are.

This collage showcases three fresh, sophisticated senior portraits that highlight both Savannah’s Old-World charm and the senior’s bright, confident style. Left Frame – Effortless Stroll: She walks across a sun-splashed courtyard framed by soft-cream stucco walls and a cascade of ivy. The short, flutter-sleeve wrap dress in crisp white sways as she moves, pairing perfectly with low white block-heel sandals. Dappled late-afternoon light filters through surrounding greenery, giving the entire scene a light, airy glow and emphasizing her easy, joyful stride. Center Frame – Floral Close-Up: A closer portrait captures her beside a wall of star-jasmine in full bloom, the tiny ivory flowers echoing the tone of her dress. She gently twirls a lock of her loose curls, offering a warm, relaxed smile. The background melts into buttery bokeh, letting her expressive eyes and the soft texture of the dress’s wrap neckline take center stage. Right Frame – Historic Perch: She’s perched on the deep stone sill of a weathered stucco façade with teal shuttered windows—classic Savannah architecture. One leg is stretched gracefully, the other bent, creating clean lines that mirror the dress’s minimalist silhouette. The muted wall tones and aged shutters set off the fresh white of her outfit, while her relaxed posture and bright smile keep the mood welcoming and modern. Overall, the set feels crisp, feminine, and timeless—melding romantic Southern backdrops with a chic, contemporary look that lets her personality shine.

Cap & Gown Photos in Savannah, Georgia

The other reason I suggest senior experience clients wear a white dress is for the complementary cap & gown photos. As of this post, Senior Experience sessions include cap & gown photos – and I know most schools don’t give out cap & gowns until spring so I provide this for each senior.

Hope’s school colors are black and green – which made getting the cap & gown even easier than usual. This specific gown is from my college graduation!

This collage features a joyful and stylish high school senior celebrating graduation in iconic Savannah scenery. Here's a breakdown of the three photos: Left Image: The senior stands gracefully on a lush, green lawn surrounded by tall oak trees draped in Spanish moss. She wears a short white dress paired with white block-heeled sandals and holds her black graduation gown and cap casually, slung over her shoulder. Her smile is relaxed and confident, capturing that pre-ceremony excitement. Middle Image: In front of a red brick wall covered in blooming jasmine, the senior wears her graduation gown open over her white dress. She stands with one hand on her hip and the other triumphantly raising her cap in the air, beaming with pride. The floral backdrop adds a soft, celebratory feel to the moment. Right Image: Back on the green lawn, she’s now wearing her full cap and gown. She tosses her graduation cap toward the camera, capturing the action mid-air. Her joyful, slightly playful expression and the bright, glowing light filtering through the trees create a sense of accomplishment and fun. The entire set radiates classic Savannah charm—natural light, historic textures, and blooming greenery—perfectly framing the senior’s radiant energy and milestone moment.

Senior Photos on Tybee Island

For her Tybee photos Hope wore a bright floral print maxi dress. I love a maxi dress on the beach and this one was a perfect choice! We had fun taking photos in the water and on the boardwalk for the final part of Hope’s session. It was pretty windy and a little overcast during our session – there was a storm rolling in.
