Why a Senior Group Session Might Be the Most Fun You Have All Year | Jaden Giorgianni Photography

< back to blog

Let me guess: you’re scrolling Instagram and noticing how literally everyone seems to have the perfect senior pictures these days. You start wondering… do I go classic and solo, or is there another way to make my senior portraits stand out (without the awkward posing)?

Well, here’s a fun little secret from someone who’s photographed nearly 150 seniors: senior group sessions in Savannah are where the real magic happens.

Yes, your solo session will absolutely shine. But add your best friends, a dreamy Savannah backdrop, and a fun treat afterward… and suddenly, your photoshoot turns into an unforgettable memory.

Let’s talk about it.

The Senior Group Shoot: More Than Just Cute Pictures

Listen, I love a confident solo shoot as much as anyone, but if you’re someone who lights up around your people, a group session might just be your thing.

That’s the energy I’ve seen launch next-level group shots. Like the welcome session we did for the Class of 2026 Senior Experience Team? We picked an easy green and white color scheme, kept the vibe laid-back, and let everyone wear their own style. Jillian, Paige, and Trista had nailed their group shoot down at Eastern Wharf. We took fun group shots, hyped each other up through solo moments, and then… pizza. Need I say more?

The fun of a group shoot? It’s contagious.

This collage captures a vibrant and joyful trio of high school seniors enjoying a sunny day in Savannah. All three young women are dressed in coordinating green and white outfits with floral or fresh, summery patterns, perfectly suited for senior portraits or best-friend sessions. Left Image: The three friends are walking confidently down a brick-paved pier by the water, hand-in-hand and smiling. A black lamppost and the calm river create a serene and classic Savannah backdrop. Center Image: The trio poses closely in a blooming flower bed with a historic paddleboat and river behind them. Each girl stands out with her unique look, but their outfits tie the group together beautifully. They radiate a cheerful and natural energy. Right Image: They walk arm-in-arm down a modern urban street lined with palm trees and stylish buildings. The scene feels youthful and upbeat—like a girls’ day out—while still polished and intentional for a photoshoot. The entire collage blends iconic Savannah charm (brick paths, river views, blooming flowers) with a playful, fashion-forward spirit—making it ideal for showcasing friendship, personality, and a memorable senior year.

Why You Might Want a Senior Group Session in Savannah

Whether you’re a senior figuring out your shoot vibe or a mom helping plan every milestone moment, here’s why a group session might be a perfect part of your senior experience:

1. Photos with Your Best Friends? Yes, Please.

You’ve laughed through exams, awkward group projects, team wins, heartbreaks, and that one time you all got lost trying to find a prom venue. These people are your people, and having photos from this season of life together isn’t just fun – it’s genuinely special.

Plus, real talk: it’s way more relaxing when you’re surrounded by friends who make you feel totally comfortable and seen.

2. Confidence Comes Easier with Friends Nearby

Let’s be honest – posing alone in front of a camera can feel intimidating. But when your friends are cheering you on? Total game changer.

At group sessions, we mix solo and group photos, which means:

  • You warm up naturally before your solo shots
  • You’re not left wondering what to do with your hands
  • You get that perfect mix of soulful and silly (aka real-life vibes)

3. Styled Just Enough, Without the Stress

I don’t require special outfits for any group session, but I do love a good color palette. Each group shoot gets a theme or color scheme to pull things together visually while letting everyone’s personal style shine. For example:

  • Bold and Bright outfits at the beach during golden hour
  • Pastels downtown for a sweet look against Savannah’s charm
  • Light greens and whites on the river for fresh, airy summer vibes

You don’t have to match perfectly… because it’s not about looking identical. It’s about looking like yourselves, just leveled up a notch.

4. You Don’t Need to Be on the Senior Experience Team

Let me say that louder for the ones in the back: you do not need to be part of the Senior Experience Team to do a senior group shoot.

This is all about you. Want to plan a BFF session with your bestie from elementary school? Let’s go. Bringing the whole soccer squad? I’m in. Big group or small, I work with you to make the day smooth, styled, and so much fun.

And if you are curious about the Senior Experience Team (with four themed shoots spread across your senior year), trust me… it’s my favorite part of what I offer, and it keeps getting better every year.

More Than Just Pretty Pictures

Yes, you’ll get professional photos filled with natural light and real smiles. But you’re also building a memory. A core one.

Because long after you’ve graduated, moved into a dorm, and started your next chapter, these photos will bring you back to “you” right now – the friendships, the style, the laughter, the moment.

Savannah gives the perfect backdrop, but your energy? That’s what makes the session shine.
