Savannah Senior Photographer | Top 5 Senior Casual Outfits c/o 2025 | Jaden Giorgianni Photography

< back to blog

Everybody loves a top 5 – right!! I thought this post would be a great way to show some of this year’s favorite senior casual outfits while also explaining WHY I feel these outfits are so great! When I thought about writing this blog I thought “oh, this will be easy” but I was so wrong!! I started looking back at the senior sessions I’ve photographed for the class of 2025 and it was so hard to pull outfits out to share!!

After going back and forth over some amazing outfits I have put together my top 5 favorite senior casual outfits – in each of the categories I suggest senior’s consider for casual sessions in Savannah! Here they are and why they made the list!

The White Dress

The white dress is a classic look for senior pictures and I highly suggest every senior include a white (or black) dress as one of their looks. You can pair “the white dress” category easily with “something for mom” and check two categories off in one outfit! Here are my top 5 white dress looks for the class of 2025.

This image collage features five high school senior girls, each posing outdoors in different iconic Savannah locations, all styled in white dresses—a classic and symbolic choice often used for graduation portraits or spring/summer senior sessions. Here’s a breakdown of each look and setting from left to right: 📍1st Girl (Far Left): Outfit: A fitted, smocked white mini dress with flutter sleeves and a tiered skirt, paired with wedge sandals. Setting: Standing against a white column, with mossy oaks and lush greenery in the background—classic Southern charm. Vibe: Polished and playful, blending feminine details with a trendy silhouette. 📍2nd Girl: Outfit: A white eyelet set with a cropped flutter-sleeve top and matching skirt featuring cutout details. Setting: Leaning on a white fence under Spanish moss in a soft, shaded residential area. Vibe: Modern Southern belle with a little edge—eyelet fabrics and cutouts are both trending in 2025. 📍3rd Girl (Center): Outfit: A flowing, boho-inspired white maxi dress with wide straps and a ruffled hem. Setting: Walking through a live oak-lined park with dappled light on the grass—quintessential Savannah. Vibe: Effortless and natural, evoking movement and confidence. 📍4th Girl: Outfit: A simple, elegant wrap-style white dress with cap sleeves and a flutter hem, paired with platform sandals. Setting: Framed by lush greenery and a staircase, possibly in an old Savannah courtyard. Vibe: Fresh, confident, and timeless—perfectly highlighting her natural beauty. 📍5th Girl (Far Right): Outfit: A strapless, textured white mini dress with a large front tie detail. Setting: Posing in front of marshland with wildflowers and a coastal dock behind her. Vibe: Coastal and carefree—this look is youthful, trendy, and ideal for senior photos near the water. Overall Impression: This set beautifully showcases how versatile a white dress can be for senior portraits—each girl's look reflects her personality, while the varied Savannah backdrops add richness, authenticity, and Southern elegance to the session.

So left to right let’s talk about each one of these “white dress” looks!

First up is Dorothy – I love this dress and think it makes a great outfit for senior photos because it’s a very classic cut, a good length, and it fits her perfectly! The flutter sleeve and tiered skirt are feminine but not overly trendy and this outfit will age very well!

Next up is Bailey – this is such a great white dress that fits into the trendy category too! Eyelet is back and the simple cutouts this dress has is very “in”. I also think that even though this dress could check the “trendy” box it’s another example of an outfit that will age well.

In the middle is Macy – Macy’s white maxi dress is a great dress for senior photos because I haven’t met a maxi dress that wasn’t GREAT for photos!! Maxi dresses give so much good movement and make taking photos even more fun! This dress looks effortless and Macy looks very confident and relaxed.

The fourth images is Hope – this is another example of how great a simple white dress can be! A wrap dress never goes out of style, the length of this dress is perfect, and the flutter hem gives it just a little bit of something that makes it more interesting to the eye.

Finally in this example is Riley – I put this here because it passes as a white dress BUT…it’s actually a romper (very trendy). Strapless is very back for 2025 and this outfit gives the perfect balance of coastal casual and fun time.

Casual

I think wearing a causal outfit for your senior photos might be THE most important outfit you choose…yep, I said it. The casual outfit might be the most important one. Why you ask? Well do you really wear a dress every single day of your life? If you do then go for all dresses but if you don’t why not choose at least one outfit during your session that shows off your casual side!

The casual outfit is also a great way to share your personality, grab something trendy, wear something you mom approves of,  and add a pop of color!

This image collage features five senior girls styled in casual, trendy summer outfits, each posing in different scenic Savannah locations. The overall vibe is playful, relaxed, and youthful—perfectly capturing personality-driven senior portraits. Here’s a breakdown from left to right: 🌿 1st Girl: Outfit: Green and blue floral halter crop top paired with white wide-leg pants and white sandals. Setting: Walking down a pathway shaded by blooming crepe myrtles and draped oak trees—a dreamy Southern garden setting. Vibe: Effortlessly chic and vibrant; the halter top and wide-leg combo are on-trend and great for movement in photos. ☕ 2nd Girl: Outfit: Smocked plaid top with spaghetti straps and high-waisted light-wash jeans, plus slip-on sandals. Setting: Sitting casually on a planter box with striped umbrellas and Spanish moss in the background—very relaxed café or park ambiance. Vibe: Quietly trendy with a vintage nod. The mix of soft plaid and relaxed denim is both cool and classic. 🏛️ 3rd Girl: Outfit: Hot pink ruffled top with puff sleeves, tucked into high-rise, distressed denim shorts, and flat sandals. Setting: In front of a beautiful historic white home with blue shutters and wrought iron fencing. Vibe: Bold and bright—her outfit pops against the neutral background, and the silhouette feels both timeless and Gen Z-approved. 🌳 4th Girl: Outfit: Cropped graphic tee with high-waisted, loose-fitting jeans and white sneakers. Setting: Sitting on the grass in a shaded park with oak trees and brick buildings in the distance. Vibe: Classic “cool girl” look—laid-back, sporty, and very current. This relaxed styling is a go-to for natural, candid portraits. 🐚 5th Girl: Outfit: Light pink floral crop top with bow-tie straps, paired with white lace-trimmed shorts. Setting: Leaning on a white fence along a sun-dappled country lane or coastal road. Vibe: Sweet and summery with a touch of boho. The bow straps and floral print are soft, romantic, and trendy without being overdone.

Let’s talk about Marin and her white pant/green top – this outfit is so effortless, very trendy, and the green adds the perfect pop of color! Halter tops are in, wide leg pants are in, and fun colors and floral prints are always in. This outfit is a great example of taking one outfit and checking off several of the categories I suggest for your session.

The second images is Ava – she was very casual and actually wore jeans for two of her outfits. I loved that she knew she wasn’t much of a dress person so she didn’t force it and she was comfortable for her session. One of the biggest things I tell seniors is “if you are not comfortable the camera can tell”!

Anna is in the middle adding a great pop of color to her casual outfit. This jean skirt is both trendy and classic – the high waist giving it a more trendy look and the fact that denim never goes out of style keeping it classic. I also love the hot pink top – a very 2024/2025 color but also a good color that never goes out of style.

Next up is Hope – she opted for a college tee and jeans for one of her senior experience session looks, and I’m here for it! When she got out of the car she told me she wasn’t super dressy and she wanted to share with everyone that she was going to USC so she kept it casual. She looks comfortable and relaxed without looking sloppy!

Last up here is Riley again! The floral print and bow detail on this top are soft and feminine and pairing it with the trendier tiered ruffle skirt makes it a great option for causal and for trendy – another two in one outfit!

Something for Mom

Something for mom…there are so many ways this one can go LOL! Honestly every outfit you decided to wear could fit into the “something for mom” category but sometimes you have your own ideas and style and your mom might not see the vision but these photos are a really big deal and you’ve got to throw her a bone!

Each of these seniors told me at some point during these outfits some version of “my mom picked this out”.

This image collage showcases five senior girls, each wearing a colorful and expressive outfit in a unique outdoor location. The overall tone is bold, joyful, and confident—perfect for celebrating individuality and personality through senior portraits. Here’s a breakdown from left to right: 💖 1st Girl (Hot Pink Jumpsuit): Outfit: A bold, wide-leg hot pink halter jumpsuit paired with sandals. Setting: Brick sidewalk beneath moss-draped trees and blooming crepe myrtles in a charming Savannah street scene. Vibe: Chic and vibrant—this monochromatic look feels modern, eye-catching, and totally on-trend for senior portraits. ❤️ 2nd Girl (Red Maxi Dress): Outfit: A flowy, strappy red maxi dress with a cutout at the waist. Setting: Walking barefoot along the beach at golden hour, with sea oats and beach houses in the background. Vibe: Dramatic and romantic—the movement of the dress in the ocean breeze brings energy and elegance to this coastal look. 🌼 3rd Girl (Puff Sleeve Floral Dress): Outfit: A pastel floral mini dress with puff sleeves and a fitted waist. Setting: Standing in front of a white picket fence and bright yellow flowering bush with a coastal home nearby. Vibe: Sweet and vintage-inspired—this look channels soft-girl, garden-party energy with playful color and charm. 🍑 4th Girl (Coral Ruffle Dress): Outfit: A short coral dress with ruffled sleeves and a tiered skirt, accessorized with a long necklace. Setting: Posing among lush hydrangeas and oak trees in a residential garden setting. Vibe: Feminine and fresh—this outfit blends Southern charm with a modern silhouette, perfect for a garden-inspired shoot. 🎨 5th Girl (Floral Mini Dress + Pink Heels): Outfit: A fitted floral spaghetti strap mini dress paired with bubblegum pink platform heels. Setting: Posed in front of a historic doorway with architectural detail and ironwork—urban and classic. Vibe: Bold and fashion-forward—her outfit pops with confidence and a little retro flair, giving her look personality and edge. This collage is a beautiful example of how color and location can work together to amplify each senior’s personality. Let me know if you’d like a trend breakdown for these outfits too!

Maddie starts us out here with this PINK!!!!! jumpsuit – talk about hitting categories! Something for mom, pop of color, and trendy!! She looks chic and confident in an outfit that she might not have chosen for herself but wore anyway because her mom loved it.

Caroline has the next outfit for mom that I love! This outfit also hits “pop of color” and “trendy” as well. The cutout in the front is super cute but not too revealing and a maxi dress on the beach is always the perfect pick! I love that Caroline wore this dress because it was outside of her “normal” style and she looked amazing in it!

Bailey pops back up again in our middle photo here. She told me during her session she never wears dresses and she actually wore both of her outfits just for her mom. This dress is a great choice for a senior session outfit – it’s trendy but has a beautiful cut. The fact that the tailoring is done so well balances out the large sleeve and floral pastels are always a great choice for a print.

The 4th photo in this set is Abby – I didn’t know it during her shoot but later on she told me she only wore this dress because her mom picked it out. This one was one of my favorites from her session because it was so simple but was such a great color on her! I think the dress is fun and moved really well for photos but also isn’t too short.

Allison is featured in the final photo here – this multi-colored floral dress with chunky heels is such a great choice for a senior session outfit! The bold floral pattern gives such a great pop of color – she looks very styled and confident.

Pop of Color

So many of my seniors do “pops of color” so well – it’s hard to pick a top 5 for this one while also only using each outfit once for the purpose of this blog. These are some of my favorite pops of color outfits that aren’t featured in other categories.

Adding an outfit with a pop of color I think is a MUST for your senior session! I love the life colorful outfits bring to a photo and how well they photograph around town. I would say if you aren’t the type of senior who is wanting to wear color for at least one of your outfits I might not be the person for you.

This image collage features five senior girls dressed in vibrant, summery outfits, each photographed in a distinct and stylish Savannah location. The overall vibe is patriotic, playful, and fashion-forward, with strong pops of red, yellow, and teal that reflect confidence and creativity. Here’s a description of each look and setting from left to right: ❤️ 1st Girl (One-Shoulder Red Maxi Dress): Outfit: A dramatic, one-shoulder red dress with ruffle detail and a high slit, paired with strappy heels. Setting: On the Savannah riverfront promenade with palm trees and an overcast sky—very coastal-chic. Vibe: Elegant and powerful—this look feels like a fashion editorial and makes a bold statement in a classic Southern setting. 💛 2nd Girl (Yellow Long-Sleeve Mini Dress): Outfit: A cheerful, mustard yellow mini dress with long sleeves, a high neck, and subtle pattern, paired with neutral heels. Setting: Against a pastel pink wall with a vintage window—very soft and architectural. Vibe: Sweet and vintage-inspired. The color contrast between the dress and background gives the image a charming, artful pop. 🩵 3rd Girl (Teal Bodycon Mini Dress): Outfit: A fitted teal sleeveless mini dress with simple lines, paired with platform sandals. Setting: A lush park or garden with dappled light and a gazebo in the background—quintessential Southern charm. Vibe: Fun, confident, and youthful—this is a modern, trendy silhouette that highlights personality and presence. ☀️ 4th Girl (Yellow Strapless Maxi Dress): Outfit: A flowing yellow strapless dress with a ruffled bodice and tiered skirt, paired with sandals. Setting: In front of a historic Savannah home with an American flag and elegant porch details. Vibe: Bright and breezy—this look feels celebratory and timeless, and the flag adds a subtle patriotic flair perfect for summer. 🇺🇸 5th Girl (Red Ruffle Top + White Trousers): Outfit: A red flutter-sleeve crop top paired with high-waisted white wide-leg pants and neutral heels. Setting: A classic Savannah street lined with American flags, iron railings, and greenery. Vibe: Clean, crisp, and All-American—this outfit feels festive and fashion-forward, ideal for July sessions or patriotic themes. The color palette across the collage feels intentional and striking—red, yellow, teal, and white all pop beautifully against the lush greenery and historic backdrops Savannah is known for.

Leading us off with a pop of color is Izzy in this asymmetrical red dress. Izzy was on my senior experience team and I cant’ say enough amazing things about ALL the outfits she wore during the year! This dress though lands here in the pop of color because…well do I even need to explain! The red color pops in every aspect and this fun flirty dress moved so much and photographed so well. 10 out of 10!

The yellow pop Anna wore for her session wasn’t only a great color pop it had a cute story! Anna graduated from college this year and she wore this same dress for one of her high school senior photos. I thought that was such a great reason to choose an outfit and I loved how this dress complemented her skin tone (yellow is hard) and the cut and style fit her perfectly.

Maddie is our middle photo here in a pop of green. I will say I personally think green can be hard here in Savannah because certain times of year and certain locations are SO GREEN!!! but we used this dress mostly on Jones Street when Maddie wore it for her session and all the brick on Jones helped balance the green out. This is an example of how a color in one location works but in another location might not.

Smith is up next in more yellow! This outfit hits “pop of color” and “trendy” but also matched Smith’s fun and easy going personality perfectly! The skirt had so much fun movement and it was hard not to photograph her moving for every shot we did!

Our last “pop of color” comes from Dorthy – she popped in this red top and the BEST part about this outfit is Dorthy and her mom chose this specifically for Jones Street. When they decided to come from Missouri to Savannah for photos one of their “must hit” spots was Jones Street and they knew this red pop of color would be the perfect top! I love that she paired it with the simple white pants – it adds to the overall look without taking away from the red.

Trendy/Shares your personality

I think all of the outfits you wear for your senior session should share your personality but there are always aspects of some outfits that REALLY do the job.

Trends are another thing I encourage seniors to wear – sure, you might look back one day and think “what was I thinking” but if you do you’ll just laugh and appreciate that you were willing to go for a look and stay true to yourself.

I’ve talked in each of the categories above about how certain outfits are trendy but find themselves in other categories so these outfits below might not be the most trendy but I think they speak to each of the senior’s wearing them and their personalities.

This collage features five senior girls, each styled in a completely different and distinctive look, showcasing both personality and individuality against varied Savannah backdrops. The outfits range from whimsical and soft to tailored and editorial, with each scene offering its own sense of story. Here’s a description of each look and setting from left to right: 🌸 1st Girl: Pastel Tiered Maxi Dress Outfit: A flowy, halter-neck maxi dress in soft pastel floral with tiered ruffles. Setting: A quaint alley with bright aqua walls and black shutters, lined with brick and lush greenery. Vibe: Dreamy and romantic—this look is light, airy, and perfect for expressing a whimsical, feminine style in senior portraits. ☀️ 2nd Girl: Tan Blazer Set with Heels Outfit: A matching tan two-piece set featuring a blazer-style top and shorts, paired with white pointed heels. Setting: In front of a white picket fence and moss-draped oaks in a Southern residential area. Vibe: Chic and confident—this outfit leans into structured, fashion-forward style while still being soft and approachable. 🎓 3rd Girl: Vest + Button-Down + Black Pants Outfit: A red brocade vest over a white shirt with black slacks and ankle boots. Setting: Standing in front of the SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) sign at the Deloitte Foundry. Vibe: Creative and academic—this look reflects individuality, confidence, and a touch of artistic flair, perfect for an arts-focused graduate. 💙 4th Girl: White Ruffle Top + Royal Blue Shorts Outfit: A puff-sleeved white top with lace-up front detail paired with high-waisted, royal blue flowy shorts and sneakers. Setting: In front of a white picket fence with soft, blooming greenery. Vibe: Fun and sporty with a touch of prep—this outfit balances sweet femininity with playful confidence. 🐎 5th Girl: Orange Dress + Cowboy Boots with a Horse Outfit: A soft orange cap-sleeve dress paired with Western-style tan cowboy boots. Setting: Outdoors in a grassy field, holding the reins of a white horse surrounded by greenery. Vibe: Country chic meets confidence—this is a powerful, grounded look that blends Southern roots with personal style. Overall, this set highlights the power of fashion storytelling in senior photography. Each girl's outfit and setting feel thoughtfully paired, giving space for her personality to shine while offering a wide range of style—from soft and romantic to bold, classic, or rustic.

Up first is Emma – she carried this dress so perfectly especially considering she’s a petite young lady. Tiers of ruffles could have easily overwhelmed her frame but she made this dress look effortless. I think I chose to put it here in this category as one of my favorites because I think it’s trendy with the tiered layers, the pastel flowers give Bridgerton, and the halter top is very 2000s in 2025. I also think this dress fits Emma’s sweet personality and kind disposition really well. It’s a dress so good she actually wore it again for one of our senior team sessions!

Izzy is back with another great outfit!! This monochrome look meets the blazer and skirt meets chic and confident is not only a great outfit it’s an outfit that really takes Izzy’s structured and fashion forward aura and turns it into an outfit. A suit for a senior outfit isn’t something I see often but I think Izzy took the classic aspect of this look and made it fit a professional structure with youthful ease.

Our middle photo is of Mason – I picked this outfit as one of my favorite outfits because it fit Mason’s style and personality. I think the fit is great, if it had been off this outfit might not have made such an impact. Vests are back in a big way and the red brocade fabric (pop of color!) adds a vintage and artistic flare that’s perfect for a SCAD grad!

Next up is Smith with another cute outfit! This white top and blue shorts (pop of color) paired with the sneakers takes the athlesiure trend that’s so popular these days and elevates it for a perfect senior session outfit. This outfit is fun and sporty and casual but styled in a manner that makes it a senior session outfit that works really well!

The last photo her is the definition of share your personality! Owing a horse isn’t Macy’s whole personality but Chapel her grey gelding is a big part of her life and doing a senior session that included him was a big priority for her. She did such a great job choosing this simple but cute peach dress to complement the green fields and the grey of her horse. Nothing is clashing and everything looks well styled. Anytime you choose to incorporate an aspect of your life into your senior pictures they will never go out of style!
